BSF foils smuggling bids at different locations

SHILLONG, June 26: The Border Security Force (BSF) troops on Saturday thwarted smuggling bids at different locations along the international border in Meghalaya.
According to a statement, the BSF personnel also confiscated medicines as well as cosmetic and clothing products worth over Rs 20 lakh while being smuggled to Bangladesh.
Acting on tip-off, BSF troops deployed at international border of West Jaintia Hills foiled a smuggling bid and seized items worth over 10 lakh.
In other incidents, BSF personnel also confiscated huge quantity of cosmetic and clothing items from bordering areas of South West Khasi Hills and East Khasi Hills.
One Bangladesh national, identified as Feroz Ali (18), was also apprehended by BSF personnel at Pyrdwah under Pynursla police station and seized cosmetic products worth over Rs nine lakh.
