Decomposed body recovered from Baridua

Nongpoh, June 27: A decomposed male  body was found lying on Monday morning near an abandoned stone quarry at 9 Mile at Baridua in Ri Bhoi District.

On receipt information, police team from Khanapara Police Station rushed to the site and necessary legal formalities and identification was conducted.

However, since the body was in a decomposed state, it could not be identified and the cause of the death could not be ascertained. Later, the body was brought to Nongpoh Civil Hospital for post-mortem examination.

In this connection, the police has registered a suo moto case under relevant sections of law for further investigation and steps are also being taken for identification of the body.
