Media sensitisation for police PROs

SHILLONG, June 28: A one-day media sensitisation programme for the public relations officers (PROs) of various districts/units of Meghalaya Police was organised at Police Headquarters here on Tuesday.
Panellists for the programme include Editor of The Shillong Times, Padma Shri Patricia Mukhim, president of Shillong Press Club David Laitphlang and Spokesperson & PRO, Ministry of Defence, Wing Commander Sreeprakash J.
An initiative of Meghalaya DGP Dr LR Bishnoi, the sensitisation programme was organised with the objectives of timely dissemination of information to media and providing police insights into varied dimensions of media.
The programme also comprised an interactive session among the police officials and the panellists wherein, views on expectations of police and media, highlighting of good works by police, prompt sharing of factual information, and confidentiality of information were exchanged in a relaxed ambience.
