SHILLONG, July 2: C&RD Minister and Mylliem MLA Hameltson Dohling has moved the Managing Director of National Highways Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL), urging the latter to repair the road from Umshyrpi bridge to 12th Mile.
In a letter to the NHIDCL MD, the minister made a crucial mention about the potholes on the stretch of the road and sought measures for their repair.
It worth noting that the road from Umshyrpi bridge till 12th Mile has, of late, shown signs of wear and tear, and to add to the woes, four-lane work on the said road has been stalled for quite some time after the contractor abandoned the work.
It is learnt that the NHIDCL is in the process of re-tendering the work on the stretch, which is subject to exasperating traffic jam every day.
