SHILLONG, July 3: In a joint operation, police teams of Meghalaya and Assam have safely rescued a mother and her child from abductors in Assam’s Dhubri district, police said on Sunday.
Police also arrested one of the abductors identified as Moni Zaman (23) from Dhubri on Saturday.
The mother along with her one-and-a-half-year-old baby was kidnapped from Rongkon Bazar last month.
During the investigation, police learnt that the victims were taken to Assam’s Dhubri district and kept in confinement at a place called Beltuli under Bilasipara Police Station.
Meanwhile, police have brought the victims and the accused to Tura, the district headquarters of West Garo Hills on Sunday.
The accused person is being forwarded to court.
Police said the accused person has been allegedly threatening the girl and her family members continuously. (UNI)
