SHILLONG, July 4: Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Monday sought to defuse the ongoing controversy over the name-calling by All India Trinamool Congress national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee, saying that he was neither aware of what the latter had said nor read his comment.
The CM also feigned ignorance about the retaliation from the National People’s Youth Front (youth wing of NPP) a day after Banerjee’s slanderous remark.
“We have a lot of work to do and this is not my concern. Everybody is free to comment in a democracy,” the CM said.
