Schoolteacher killed, one hurt in road accident

SHILLONG, July 4: A 24-year-old swimming teacher of St Edmund’s School was killed on the spot in a road mishap here on Monday.
The victim, a resident of Mawlai Nongpataw, was riding a scooty (ML05T4421) and was headed towards Shillong from 7th Mile along with a pillion rider.
On reaching 5th Mile at around 3 pm, the scooty skidded and dashed against a Pynursla-bound four-wheeler (ML053337), killing the rider on the spot and injuring the pillion rider.
Meanwhile, a case has been registered while the driver of the four-wheeler has been arrested.
