SHILLONG, July 5: The Hill State People’s Democratic Party has stressed on the need for a relook into the state reservation policy.
The party discussed the matter at length during its central executive committee meeting here, HSPDP president KP Pangniang said.
He said that the party has not taken any call on the matter but felt that the reservation policy needed a relook since it is no longer based on equality, considering the larger population of Khasi and Jaintia youth.
“If needed we can send suggestions to the government and even mention in our election manifesto that we need to revisit the policy,” Pangniang said.
