BSF seizes Yaba tablets along int’l border in EKH

SHILLONG, July 11: Troops of Border Security Force (BSF) Meghalaya Frontier launched a special operation and seized 1,180 Yaba tablets which were kept in a vehicle along the international border in East Khasi Hills on Sunday.
Acting on tip-off, the BSF troops pursued the intel and found that the consignment was wrapped in six plastic pouches and kept inside a car (ML-05 V 9305) parked near Larbamon village under Pynursla.  However, owner of the vehicle one Ribhahun Khongsning, a resident of the village, has denied having any knowledge about the contraband seized from her car.
The seized narcotics were handed over to Pynursla Police Station for further action.
According to the PRO of the force, BSF Meghalaya has seized more than 11,000 Yaba tablets so far since the beginning of the year.
