SHILLONG, July 11: An RTI activist has revealed that the Centre has not released funds worth around Rs 600 crore under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) due to the delay by the state government in submitting utilisation certificates (UCs) for funds already spent.
Talking to reporters on Monday RTI activist Disparsing Rani said documents which he had obtained from the State Rural Employment Society showed that the Centre did not release around Rs 600 crore meant for MGNREGA due to non-submission of the utilisation certificates.
