SHILLONG, July 14: The State Rural Employment Society (SRES), an agency responsible in implementing Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS), on Thursday clarified that the state has already received Rs 391 crore as central share and the corresponding 10 percent state share.
“We have liquidated most of the liabilities with the release of the funds,” SRES Mission Director said, reacting to news reports recently.
The SRES said that Meghalaya is among the top four states for which funds were released by the Centre during the current fiscal year.
“The SRES always furnishes audited utilisation certificate to the Ministry on the first week of October every year. This is in full compliance with the timeline set by the Ministry of Rural Development,” the SRES said.
