SHILLONG, July 16: Army Public School (APS) Shillong on Saturday won a cluster-level ethics bowl competition, and qualified for the command-level ethics bowl competition where it will be competing against army public schools in the Eastern Command.
Promoted by Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA), the competition commenced on July 14 at APS Shillong and was virtually participated by APS Tezpur, APS Narangi and APS Basistha.
According to a statement, the competition was also participated defence officials and faculty members from different Shillong-based educational institutes.
“An Ethics Bowl is a collaborative and competitive event, in which teams analyse a given case with a series of wide ranging ethical dilemma. The teams are to present and attend to their case, analyse the morally applicable features to the case and respond to the comments and questions from the opponent team as well as a panel of judges,” the statement said.
On July 14, two cluster-level matches were played — the first match between APS Shillong and APS Narangi was won by the former, and the second match between APS Basistha and APS Tezpur was won by the latter.
On Saturday, the cluster-level finals between APS Shillong and APS Tezpur were conducted, following which the former emerged victorious.
The winners of the cluster-level competitions will now compete at command-level.
