BSF holds Pension Adalat in city

SHILLONG, July 16: The BSF Meghalaya Frontier on Friday organised a ‘Pension Adalat’ in a bid to expedite the redressal of grievances of BSF retirees and family pensioners from Northeastern states.
The Pension Adalat, which was organised in Mawpat, was inaugurated by DIG, Frontier Hq BSF Meghalaya, Rajesh Kumar Gurung.
In his address, Gurung aired concern over the difficulties being faced by retirees and family pensioners.
Assuring that the government is always committed for the welfare of retirees and their families through various schemes, he said Pension Adalat is one such mechanism through which they can take up cases of pension-related grievances.
It may be mentioned that Pension Adalat was also conducted online for different parts of Northeastern states.
