SHILLONG, July 17: Agriculture Minister Banteidor Lyngdoh has exuded confidence that the issuance of appointment letters to fill up 83 Grade-III posts, lying vacant since 2018, by the Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, will help address the shortage of field officers in the department.
The department had issued the letters for appointment to the post of Horticulture Development Officer and Agriculture Development Officer in line with the recommendations of the Meghalaya Public Service Commission on March 10, 2022.
Lyngdoh said, “I have personally pursued this matter since these vacancies were needed to fill up at the earliest. Deserving candidates have waited for so long.”
