Crackdown
In its ongoing drive against illicit liquor/illegal sale of IMFL, beer, wine etc, the Office of the East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner (Excise) conducted raids in restaurants/stalls in the town and its outskirts, and seized 24.200 litres of illicitly distilled liquor and 3.660 litres of IMFL in June. A total of 8 persons were also arrested in this regard.

Jimstowel Syiemiong (34) of Wahlang Dom Sawlien, Sohiong, has gone missing from his residence since June 6, 2020, police said in a statement on Monday. Syiemiong, according to the statement, is 5 feet 1 inch tall, has normal built, fair complexion and an oval face.
