EKH DC bans open sale, display of sharp objects

SHILLONG, Aug 2: East Khasi Hills District Magistrate has prohibited the open sale of sharp objects such as machete, knives etc along the roadside in Police Bazaar and Jail Road.
Informing that sale of the aforementioned objects may be done only inside the shops under closed display, the District Magistrate said, “Such open sale and display of sharp tools could pose threat as they could be picked up by miscreants and used against shopkeepers and pedestrians.”
