SHILLONG, Aug 3: The construction work on the 102-km Borghat-Sonapur road should commence by early September, the state government has submitted before the Meghalaya High Court.
The state government informed that a letter of acceptance has been issued to the contractor to undertake the work.
According to the government, the contractor has also furnished a bank guarantee.
Informing that certain other formalities, including the modalities of construction, have to be worked out, the state government also informed that with the availability of funds, there would be no impediment to the quick completion of the construction once it commences.
“The State should file a status report when the matter appears next six weeks hence, particularly indicating the time of completion and, if possible, a bar chart indicating the stages of construction,” the High Court has, meanwhile, said.
