Innerwheel Club holds distribution drive

SHILLONG, Aug 6: As part of World Breastfeeding Week 2022, over 150 children and lactating mothers at Ganesh Das Hospital Shillong benefitted following a distribution drive conducted by the Innerwheel Club of Shillong.
A statement in this regard informed that Club distributed 75 bottles of Wanto Lact powder, 75 food packets, 25 kg of apples and seven dozens of bananas among the beneficiaries at the hospital.
“The lactating mothers or the beneficiaries were extremely happy and the hospital administrators expressed their gratitude to the members of IWC Shillong for their kind concern and action,” the statement said.
World Breastfeeding Week is an annual celebration which is held every year from 1 to 7 August in more than 120 countries.
First celebrated in 1992 by World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action (WABA), World Breastfeeding Week is now observed in over 120 countries by UNICEF, WHO and their partners including individuals, organisations and governments.
