Web portal
The North Eastern Council (NEC) and North Eastern Development Finance Corporation Ltd (NEDFi) have developed a digital platform and web-based initiative titled ‘Advancing North East’ in the form of a web portal and mobile app. A statement in this regard informed that the initiative will act as a one-stop solution in providing knowledge and guidance to the students, youths and entrepreneurs of Northeast in areas of education, career and livelihood. “The portal can be accessed at www.advancingnortheast.in,” the statement said.
Office-bearers
The Shillong Agarwal Samiti, during its biennial elections on Sunday, formed a new executive committee and elected Sunil Kariwala as president, Mahesh Chachan as vice president, Satish Jalan as secretary, Amit Singhania as treasurer, et al. “This committee with hold office for two years till the next elections,” a statement in this regard said.

Ryan Surong Myrthong, a student of Laitumkhrah Bengali Secondary School, has secured 18th position in the top-20 merit list of MBoSE SSLC examination, 2022, following a re-evaluation of his Social Science answer script.
Muharram
The Barapathar Muharram Akhara Committee, Mawbah, will take out Muharram procession at 11 am on Tuesday. Meanwhile, West Shillong MLA Mohendro Rapsang has extended his greetings to the Muslim community on the occasion of Muharram.
Training
The Department of Education of Sohra Government College, in collaboration with the Sohra coaching centre, recently organised a training programme for the students, who are appearing the Computer-Based Test (CBT) to be conducted by the National Testing Agency for admission to the postgraduate courses in NEHU and other central universities.
