Blood donation
The Indian Red Cross Society, Meghalaya, along with the National Cadet Corps (NCC), as part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav and 75th Independence Day celebrations, will organise a voluntary blood donation camp from 10 am onwards on Friday at the 2nd Meghalaya Battalion NCC Shillong, opposite Shillong Public School, Laitumkhrah.

Natl Lok Adalat
The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Ri-Bhoi, will organise National Lok Adalat on all types of cases at the Office of the District & Sessions Court, Nongpoh, from 10 am onwards on Saturday.
The DLSA, West Garo Hills, will also organise the National Lok Adalat at District and Sessions Court, Tura, on Saturday.

Dry day
West Jaintia Hills District Magistrate has declared dry day on August 15 on account of Independence Day. According to a statement, all IMFL licensed premises (wholesale and retail sale), bars, canteens, country shops including outstills have been directed to remain shut.

Office-bearers
The Dorbar Shnong Umpling, during its recent meeting, elected new office-bearers for the year 2022-2025. According to a statement, during the meeting, Sanwat Fair Pyngrope was elected as Rangbah Shnong, Lewis Jyrwa as secretary administration, Rodrick C Lyngdoh as secretary development, Truman S Basan as secretary finance, among other members.

Gratitude
The Barapathar and Jhalupara Muharram Akhara committees have extended their gratitude to District administration, police, Rangbah Shnongs and MLAs for their cooperation during the observance of Muharram in Shillong.
