NEHU, Shillong College celebrate National Librarians’ Day

SHILLONG, Aug 12: The North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU) and the Shillong College celebrated National Librarians’ Day, by organising separate programmes on Friday.
Shillong College celebrated the National Librarians’ Day with a poster campaign on the theme ‘My Library, My Temple of Knowledge’, a two-day orientation programme ‘Connect with Your Library’ and formation of Readers’ Club for the students of the college.
The programme was attended by college principal Dr E Kharkongor, IQAC Coordinator Dr S Sarma, among others.
Similarly, the NEHU Central Library and the Department of Library & Information Science jointly organised a programme to celebrate the day, which was attended by Vice-Chancellor Prof PS Shukla, Assistant Librarian Dr. Manoj Rana, et al.
During the programme, talks were held on the life, contributions and perspectives of Father of Indian Librarianship Dr. SR Ranganathan.
During the programme, song was also presented by the third semester students of the Department of Library & Information Science.
