NEHU organises panel discussion on PM’s journey

SHILLONG, Aug 18: Teachers, non-teaching staff, scholars and students participated in a panel talk on Modi@20: Dreams meet Delivery, a book on the journey of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, organised by the North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU) on Wednesday.
The programme was organised as a culminating event which started first at all the constituent schools and departments of the University in both Shillong and Tura campuses of the university for more than two weeks.
Director of Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati Prof TG Sitharam was the chief guest of the programme, and the panel expert on the book.
Vice-Chancellor of NEHU Prof Prabha Shankar Shukla, the chairman of the event, gave a presentation on the vision and mission of the PM as a statesman to lead India to greater glory.
In his opening remarks, the VC spoke about the various decisions taken by the PM which have changed the dynamics of India’s development. He also noted how the book gives a detailed picture of what Modi has done for the last 20 years as a statesman, starting with being elected as the Chief Minister of Gujarat.
Shukla also spoke about how keen the PM is on linking Northeast to the rest of India and making it one of the most developed regions of the country.
He also mentioned how the Prime Minister encourages the youth in taking the lead role in the growth of the country.
The chief guest of the event Prof TG Sitharam spoke about the principles of the Prime Minister and gave a detailed picture of how he has been helping in making the nation digitally sound.
After the address by the panel expert, the teachers, students and scholars actively took part in a house discussion.
