SHILLONG, Aug 31: The Seng Samla Mawlai Pyllun (SSMP) on Wednesday met Art and Culture Minister Sanbor Shullai to remind him of the assurance of the state government on the relocation of the CRPF camp from Mawlai area.
While speaking to reporters, SSMP president Samuel Biam also informed that they had suggested Shullai to convert the CRPF camp into a rehabilitation centre for drug addicts once the relocation takes place.
Biam said that according to Shullai, the state government is planning to relocate the CRPF camp to New Shillong Township. “But the minister told us that the matter is delayed since there is opposition from a certain section to this proposal to shift the CRPF camp,” Biam said.
Meanwhile, the SSMP also called on Urban Affairs Minister Sniawbhalang Dhar over the relocation of Marten dumping ground from Mawlai Mawiong.
