Disability unit comes up at Children’s Hospital

SHILLONG, Sep 1: A disability unit for specially-abled children was on Thursday inaugurated at Children’s Hospital in Pohkseh.
A statement in this regard informed that the disability unit was inaugurated during a programme here to mark the 14th anniversary of the hospital.
“The disability unit will be equipped with special educators, audiology and speech language pathologist, clinical psychologist and physiotherapist,” the statement said.
The programme was attended by renowned paediatrician and founder of the hospital Dr. Debashish Das, MePAD general secretary Bellbora Wankhar, hospital staff, among others.
The statement further informed that Wankhar played an instrumental role in starting the disability unit at the hospital.
