Office-bearers
The National People’s Party (NPP) on Tuesday confirmed the members of the 18th West Block Executive Committee in the presence of party’s state president Dr W Kharlukhi, national vice president Prestone Tynsong, among others. Rishan Rapsang was elected as president of the Block Executive Committee, Sonny L Khyriem and June Warbah as working presidents, Rishan Nongsiej and John Syiemlieh as vice presidents, Richard Dkhar, Lang Lamare, Mike Pakyntein and Arif A Khongsit as general secretaries, Daniel Rapsang as treasurer, SP Adhikari as adviser, among other members. Bina Lama was appointed president of the women’s wing, Margret Nongbet and Philomina Ryngki as vice presidents, Susan Marbaniang as general secretary, Daphisha Jana as treasurer among others. The youth wing of the party was also constituted with Wallam Kupar Lyngdoh as president and Kenny Thabah as general secretary.

Clarification
It has been clarified by one YR Nongkynrih that the location at Madan Umwang has not been inspected for the greenfield airport as yet. He said that the inspection was scheduled for August 16 by the Meghalaya Transport Corporation but it was postponed due to unavoidable circumstances.
