SHILLONG, Sep 7: The state government has constituted a four-member committee to probe the various charges levelled against Pine Mount School principal Aiom Ksiar Diengdoh by the teachers.
The decision to form the  four-member committee was taken and notification in this regards issued on September 1, 2022.

Education Minister Lahkmen Rymbui said the committee, headed by R Rapthap, Secretary of Education department, will submit its report and make recommendations for resolving the issues by the government at the earliest.

A notification issued by Commissioner & Secretary of Education department BDR Tiwari said: “The state government is fully aware of the matters of the Pine Mount School, Shillong and the state government has constituted a…committee…on 01.09.2022, to enquire into the various complaints and grievances of the Pine Mount School Teachers…”

The teachers are demanding Diengdoh’s removal after alleging that she has failed to deliver. She, however, said she was a victim of “internal politics”. She said some teachers resorted to a smear campaign against her.

Meanwhile, students and parents of the school on Wednesday expressed concern over the alleged lack of amenities. Many students said their biggest concern and complaint with the school is the unhygienic washroom and the unavailability of water. They said many of them are avoiding the toilets.

Some students said they lack exposures as they hardly get to involve in any activities. They alleged they did not have any activities in the prestigious school for a long time.
“It was in 2015 that we had the last concert,” one of them said.

On the other hand, some parents alleged that many children are suffering from urinary tract infection due to the unhygienic toilets. They said they are concerned about the health of their children.
