Appointment
Former state vice president of BJP Gagann Jain has been appointed as Chairman of State Economic Cell of BJP Meghalaya by state party president Ernest Mawrie. Jain has, meanwhile, affirmed his commitment to work towards strengthening the party for the upcoming assembly elections.

Rally
The Don Bosco Past Pupils Association will, following a COVID-induced pause, hold its annual rally on Sunday from 9:30 am at Don Bosco Technical School, Laitumkhrah. A statement in this regard informed that new office-bearers of the Association will also be elected following the rally.

Programme
The 19th annual celebration of Sree Narayana Guru Cultural Centre, a Shillong-based sociocultural organisation, and 168th birth anniversary of Jagatppurush Sree Narayana Guru, will be observed at 1 pm on Saturday at Oneness Center, Taste Complex, Jingkieng. NEHU Vice Chancellor Prof. Prabha Shankar Shukla will be the chief guest on the occasion.

Tribute
Swami Vivekananda admirers of Shillong will pay tribute at Swamiji’s memorial plaque at Batti Bazar, Laban, on Sunday to commemorate his 129th Chicago Address. Secretary RKM Shillong Swami, Hitakamanandaji Maharaj, will grace the occasion as the chief guest.

Health camp
The Oakland Bivar Road Sarvajanin Durga Puja Committee, as part of its 50 years of puja celebrations, will organise a free health camp on Saturday.
