Regulation on sale, transportation of Nitrazepam in EJH

SHILLONG, Sep 10: The East Jaintia Hills Deputy Commissioner has prohibited over-the-counter sale and transportation of Nitrazepam tablets in and around the district.
According to a statement, the prohibitory order has been issued in view of the reports of the misuse of Nitrazepam tablets in the district.
In the directive, the DC said that the sale of Nitrazepam tablets without medical prescription from a registered physician by the pharmacy/drug store is prohibited with immediate effect.
Similarly, transportation or supply of the drug within or through the district by any person or group without permission or a government-issued document is also prohibited.
