Rotary felicitates schoolteachers

SHILLONG, Sep 12: As part of Teachers’ Day and World Literacy Day celebrations, the Rotary Club Shillong Heritage recently felicitated with awards five teachers from five Shillong-based schools.
According to a statement, the awardees include Vijay Kumar Singh from Dr. Radhakrishnan School, Eric Bitlang Dkhar from Shillong Presbyterian Higher Secondary School, Sanjeev B Pohti from Jyoti Sroat, Jennifer Sohliya from Shillong Public School and Antonia Sohtun from St. Mary’s High School. “The awards which included a citation and a traditional shawl were conferred on the awardees at their respective school assemblies attended by the students and teachers of the school,” the statement said.
The Club officers, during the programme, spoke on the significance of the award, the engagement of Rotary with global illiteracy eradication and the Global Rotary Movement.
