Former cop nominated as BJP executive member

SHILLONG, Sep 20: Former cop Mariahom Kharkrang has been nominated as the state executive member of the State BJP for 2020-2023.
It may be recalled that Kharkrang opted for voluntary retirement and joined BJP few days ago. He is looking to contest the election from North Shillong constituency on a BJP ticket.
The notification announcing this read: “…I Ernest Mawrie, State president Bharatiya Janata Party, Meghalaya Pradesh, do hereby nominate Mariahom Kharkrang as State Executive Member, Bharatiya Janata Party, Meghalaya Pradesh, for the term 2020-2023”.
Kharkrang on the other hand said he accepts he nomination “with all humility” and has resolved to work whole-heartedly for the interest of the party.
