SHILLONG, Sep 21: KHADC CEM Titosstarwell Chyne on Wednesday said the council has not received any communication from the state government on the proposed railway project.
He made it clear that the council will seek the opinion of the landowners and traditional heads to understand if they were in favour of the proposed railway project.
Chyne admitted that majority of the stakeholders including pressure groups were against introduction of railway in the eastern part of the state.
It may be recalled that Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma had stated in the Assembly that the government will go ahead with the railway line only after taking everyone on board.
