NONGPOH, Sep 26: A 19-year-old girl was on Monday found murdered, allegedly by her boyfriend, at Pahamsyiem village in Ri-Bhoi.
According to sources, the body of the girl, hailing from Iewmawlong village, was recovered with stabbing injuries on her neck and stomach.
The accused, however, fled the scene after committing the crime only to be intercepted by the villagers. He was thereafter handed over to the police.
Ri-Bhoi Superintendent of Police Giri Prasad informed that the police received a call from the headman of Pahamsyiem village, who informed that the incident around 11:45 am one female body was found lying on the roads.
The SP also informed that a case in this regard has been registered and the investigation is under way.
