SHILLONG, Sep 27: The Education department on Tuesday served show cause notices on as many as ten teachers of Pine Mount School.
When contacted, an official from the department confirmed the news but refused to divulge the contents of the notice.
It is believed that the show cause notice is linked to the recent protests by the teachers demanding the removal of Aiom Ksiar Diengdoh from the principal’s post.
The department has instituted a four-member inquiry team, headed by Secretary of Education Ryntihlang Rapthap, to look into the allegations made by the teachers.
The teachers had recently staged a black flag protest to air their grievances against the failure of the state government to initiate action against the principal who was responsible for the sad state of affairs in one of the city’s most prestigious schools.
Diengdoh has blamed the teachers for resorting to internal politics and demanding her removal.
