SHILLONG, Oct 8: Four localities in Pynthorumkhrah have decided to approach the Shillong Club Limited to allow the playground within the vicinity of Shillong Golf Course to be used by the youths of the localities.
MLA of Pynthorumkhrah, AL Hek, on Saturday held a meeting with the four localities, which include parts of Mawlai Mawroh, Golf Links, Pynthorbah and Lumshyiap, on the matter.
Hek said the ground was dedicated in 2005, but since the Shillong Club has now installed a gate, and with the entire golf course fenced, the youths are unable to hold any sporting event at the playground and other programmes too are not being held.
“We will approach the Shillong Club to allow the public to use the ground for the benefit of everyone,” Hek said.
