Over 100 runners shine in Fit India Run at Tura

TURA, Oct 8: As part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Fit India Run was organised by the District Sports Office in collaboration with the district administration of West Garo Hills.
The event started from Matchakolgre LP School, New Tura, and covered a distance of 10 km. More than 100 runners participated in the run which was flagged off by the Deputy Commissioner of West Garo Hills, Swapnil Tembe.
The DC also distributed medals and cash prizes to the winners.
The winner of men category was Batsrang A Sangma followed by Witnar A Sangma (2nd) and Bethnar A Sangma (3rd), while in the women’s category, Smile Orchid M Momin bagged the first prize, and Tulsi G Momin and Rikmatchi G Momin won the second and third prizes respectively.
The youngest participant, Changrik D Marak, and oldest participant Topon M Sangma were also recognised.
