NEW DELHI, Oct 13: The Centre, on Thursday, extended the relaxation for government employees to travel to Northeastern region, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, and Andaman and Nicobar by air till 2024.
The existing concessions, which expired on September 26, will remain valid till September 25 of 2024, a government notification said.
The travel, however, has certain conditions.
The concession for air travel had given a boost to passenger traffic in the region in recent years.
All eligible government servants can avail leave travel concession (LTC) to visit the aforementioned places against the conversion of their one Home Town LTC in a four years’ block period, the notification said.
But the government employees, whose home town and headquarters/place of posting are the same, are not allowed the conversion of any Home Town LTC as they are ineligible for the facility, it stated, adding that any violation or misuse will attract action as per rules.
