SHILLONG, Oct 13: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Shillong is all set to host its mega-symposia series on ‘Improving Mobility in Shillong’ from October 14 to 26.
The symposia series aims to come up with feasible and positive long-term solutions for traffic management in the capital city.
During the 13-day-long brainstorming symposia series, detailed discussions will be held on traffic management with the involvement of eminent keynote speakers and participation of intellectuals from different sectors. Officials from various government departments will also participate to find a solution to the long-pending ordeal of daily traffic congestion.
Chief Justice of the High Court of Meghalaya Sanjib Banerjee and Chief Secretary DP Wahlang will also be present for the series.
Director of IIM Shillong, Prof. DP Goyal, says “IIM Shillong is geared up for the 13-day symposia series and is determined to come up with a blueprint to improve mobility in congested Shillong. It is certainly the need of the hour that a constructive solution is needed and not only the administration but the citizens also have to participate to improve mobility in Shillong.”
