Nearly 300 people receive training in Mawsynram

SHILLONG, Oct 14: Around 300 people attended a training programme in Mawsynram on Friday, which was organised by as part of observance of World Food Day.
Organised by the Commissionerate of Food Safety through the office of the Assistant Commissioner of Food Safety, East Khasi Hills, the attendees at the training programme were asked to work together to alleviate the sufferings of people across the world.
While the first session of the training focussed on setting up of clean and hygienic meat shops, the second session focussed on fortification of rice and other food items.
The gathering was also made aware of the importance of food and the benefits of eating healthy.
People were also asked to ensure that they do not waste food, especially during gatherings and celebrations.
