Chennai, Oct 21: Redeem Tlang set FC Goa up for an exciting 2-0 away win against Chennaiyin FC at the JN Stadium, while Noah Sadaoui sealed the win with a stoppage time goal, here on Friday.
Tlang timed his header perfectly following a cross in the 10th minute to put The Blues ahead. Chennaiyin created several of chances but Goa goalkeeper Dheeraj Singh did an excellent job to thwart all attempts at goal.
After leading 1-0 at the break, Goa pushed for another goal before Tlang was substituted by Makan Chote in the 81st minute. Then, it was Sadaoui’s curling shot in stoppage time that eventually sealed the match.
Hyderabad ready for Bengaluru
After a stellar victory over NorthEast United in the previous game, defending champions Hyderabad FC are back in action in the ISL 2022-23 this weekend with a clash against former winner Bengaluru FC.
The clash with Simon Grayson’s team at the GMC Balayogi Athletic Stadium in Gachibowli will be the first top-flight football clash in the city in over two years.
With a win and a draw apiece so far this season, both HFC and BFC are currently on four points. Simon Grayson’s side, who knocked Hyderabad out of the Durand Cup recently, have a star-studded squad, that will push Manolo’s men yet again in this game.
Roy Krishna, Sunil Chhetri and N Sivasakthi have formed a strong attack while Sandesh Jhingan, Aleksandar Jovanovic and Alan Costa have done really well to shepherd Gurpreet Singh’s goal making BFC a strong unit.
Hyderabad, along with Bengaluru are among three teams to have kept a clean sheet this season so far. (IANS)
