TURA, Oct 22: In a major political boost to Meghalaya Trinamool Congress (TMC) ahead of upcoming Assembly elections, former MDC and NPP leader from Baghmara Sengnal Sangma and UDP contestant from Chokpot Bishal Arengh on Friday joined the TMC during a programme in Tura.
The duo joined the TMC along with their supporters in the presence of former chief minister Mukul Sangma, TMC MLA Lazarus Sangma, TMC state mahila president Selma D Shira, among others.
Albeit the duo had unsuccessfully contested the last MLA elections, they now are expressing hope that their joining would boost the TMC prospects in 2023.
