NEIGRIHMS celebrates
‘Special Campaign 2.0’
SHILLONG, Oct 27: NEIGRIHMS is celebrating ‘Special Campaign 2.0’, an initiative of the Government of India. In keeping with the objective of the campaign, the institute initiated various cleaning activities in and around the campus with focus on Swachhta. NEIGRIHMS also organised various competitions including Quiz, extempore speech and poster competition for the staff on different topics — ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Gandhi Jayanti, Cleaning Protocol, Bio-Medical Waste, General Knowledge, etc’. The Special Campaign 2.0 will continue till October 31.
Pynthorbah resident goes missing
SHILLONG, Oct 27: A resident of Pynthorbah block-1, one Vikash Kumar Rai (24) has been missing from his residence since July 31. He is the son of Krisna Rai, has short and black hair, is dark complexioned and stands at 5 feet 4 inches tall. He has a burn mark on the back portion of his neck. He was wearing a green jacket. Natl Deworming Day prog in WKH
NONGSTOIN, Oct 27: National Deworming Day programme for Nongstoin, West Khasi Hills, was launched by the Additional Deputy Commissioner, M Diengdoh, at the Conference Hall, office of the District Medical & Health Officer (DM&HO) here on Thursday in the presence of the DM&HO, Dr SA Lyngdoh, team of doctors, staff of the Health department and district heads from line departments. The programme was organised by the office of the DM&HO, Nongstoin.
Fit India Freedom Run in EWKH
NONGSTOIN, Oct 27: As many as 65 men and women runners participated in Fit India Freedom Run 3.0 on an eight-kilometre long route starting from the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Eastern West Khasi, Mairang. The run was flagged off by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Eastern West Khasi Hills, A Nongbri. In the Men’s category, the first, second and third prizes were bagged by Shainingstar Marwein, Mebansainborlang Pathaw and Rahjopkordor Lyngdoh respectively. In the Women’s category, the first prize was secured by Balasiewdor Pathaw, second by Mebarisha Lyngdoh and third by Ibashongkun Kurbah. The first, second and third prize winners were awarded cash prizes of Rs 5000, Rs 3000 and Rs 2000 respectively.
