CM praises city hospital’s 100 years of service

SHILLONG, Nov 4: Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on Friday was all praise for the contributions of Dr H Gordon Roberts Hospital to the society, especially when Meghalaya was reeling under the COVID-19 pandemic.
Inaugurating the centenary celebrations of the hospital during a programme here, the chief minister congratulated the hospital on achieving the milestone and said that the occasion is befitting to acknowledge the services of Dr H Gordon Roberts, who arrived in Shillong in 1913 and started with a small dispensary in Mission Compound Shillong.
“While looking back to the contributions of Dr H Gordon Hospital to our society, I, on behalf of the people of the state, thank all the past and present staff, and members of the hospital for their numerous contributions,” Conrad said.
He also acknowledged the efforts of the hospital during the days of COVID-19 pandemic.
He also urged the hospital to continue its mission in serving the people with love, compassion, commitment and passion.
