SHILLONG, Nov 6: A total of 414 students were felicitated during the 19th Meritorious Award for Students 2022, an annual programme conducted by the Raid Laban Sports, Social and Cultural Organisation in collaboration with the Meghalaya government.
The 414 students include differently-abled and underprivileged students as well who have passed out in any division.
Principal Secretary, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary department, GHP Raju, was the chief guest of the occasion.
Others who were present include parents and relatives of students besides principal, headmaster, and headmistress of various colleges and schools, Rangbah Shnong and leaders of various NGOs — the attendance of the programme at U Soso Tham Auditorium here touched the 1000-mark.
The welcome address was given by president of the Raid Laban Sports, Social and Cultural Organisation and South Shillong MLA, Sanbor Shullai, while education secretary of the organisation, Suraj Neupane, presented a brief report.
In the second session, Shullai felicitated presented 65 laptops to select students.
