TURA, Nov 9: MTET-qualified candidates from Baghmara have moved Chief Minister Conrad Sangma for filling up of various vacant posts in government schools in South Garo Hills.
In a memorandum to the chief minister, the candidates reminded that a number of posts are lying vacant in government LP and UP schools in South Garo Hills alone, and sought that they be appointed for the same as early as possible.
The candidates have also appealed to the chief minister that no other MTET examination be conducted in the future until the vacancies are filled.
The aspiring teachers also informed that many have crossed the prescribed age limit for no fault of theirs due to delay in appointment.
The candidates also requested that the appointment to all the vacant posts be made as per the RTE norms and guidelines.
