National, int’l docs spearhead medical camp

TURA, Nov 14: With an aim to inculcate health awareness among locals, a panel of national and international doctors have begun a three-day medical, surgical and health camp here in Jengjal Sub-Divisional Hospital, Tura on Monday.
While the international panel is based out of Penang in Malaysia, the national delegation hails from Vellore.
It may be mentioned that the health check-up camp is being held at the SMELC Building in Tura between 1 pm to 8 pm on the assigned days, while the medical and surgical camp is being held at the Jengjal Hospital premises.
The counselling provided by the Malaysian doctors will cater to a variety of subjects such as maintaining a healthy lifestyle, ways to reduce health risks and stress, importance of good nutrition etc.
The panel of doctors, besides, will also conduct free blood pressure tests, calculation of Body Mass Index (BMI) and body fat, basic heart and lung risk assessment and health age calculation for the beneficiaries.
On the other hand, doctors from Vellore will provide free consultation on basic vision and conduct dental, pulmonary and paediatric check-ups.
