NONGPOH, Nov 19: The Khasi Students’ Union, North Khasi Hills District Unit (KSU-NKHD), as part of its silver jubilee celebrations, on Saturday handed over a house to a needy family in Pahamsyiem village, Ri-Bhoi.
It may be mentioned that the decision to donate the house was taken after the Pahamsyiem unit of KSU discerned that that one Silima Lymphuid, after the demise of her husband, had become the only breadwinner for her six children. The family was reportedly living in a poor condition.
It was after this the members of the Union decided to build a new house for the family.
It may be mentioned that the house was handed over to Lymphuid by KSU Central Executive Committee (CEC) president Lambokstarwell Marngar in the presence of other members of the Union and the villagers.
