SHILLONG, Nov 20: Congress MDC from Mylliem Ronnie V Lyngdoh has accused the regional parties of being happy with BJP’s growth in the state.
“It looks like the regional parties are happy with the growth of the saffron party,” Lyngdoh, who is also the former MLA from Mylliem constituency, said while addressing the inaugural programme of the office of the Mylliem Assembly Youth Congress at Mylliem Madan Iing Syiem on Saturday.
Moreover, Lyngdoh lambasted the regional parties for rejoicing at the downfall of the Congress.
According to him, the grand-old party has started to regain its strength with passage of time, even as he said the trend can be witnessed throughout the country.
“We are seeing in many of the states that people have started to reject the BJP. Many have realised that it is only the Congress, with whom they can work together,” the former Mylliem MLA said, while alleging that the BJP’s allies have started to leave them.
Accusing the NPP-led MDA Government of being a government of the rich and for the rich, Lyngdoh said leaders in the current dispensation entered politics with the intention to make money. He also said more than 3,000 youths in the constituency have joined the Congress.
