SHILLONG, Nov 28: Suspended Congress MLA Process T Sawkmie on Monday asked the state government to call the pressure groups and headmen for talks to discuss the ongoing situation in the city.
Sawkmie justified his demand, saying the meeting with pressure groups and headmen would help the government in maintaining law and order in the city and across the state.
He also asked the state government to convey a message to the Centre that Meghalaya expects a free and fair inquiry from the CBI into the Mukroh firing incident.
