SHILLONG, Dec 3: As electoral heat in Meghalaya continues to gain momentum with each passing day, a daily wage earner, going by the name Wankit Kupar Kharumnuid, has decided to take upon himself to contest the upcoming Assembly polls as an Independent candidate with the hope of bringing change for the better.
Informing that he will contest for the Nongthymmai seat, Kharumnuid pointed out that the health and education sectors in Meghalaya need to be urgently revamped.
Lamenting that many a time electorates are lured by few thousand rupees, he exhorted eligible voters to exercise their franchise sincerely and vote for development.
Kharumnuid also took a jibe at political leaders for making tall promises during political campaigns and not fulfilling them after elections.
