Meghalaya end campaign with loss vs Mumbai

Shillong, Dec 4: Meghalaya were massively defeated by an innings and 358 runs by Mumbai in their last match of the U-19 Cooch Behar Trophy today.
Starting the second day on 349/2, Mumbai lost another four wickets and added 122 runs before declaring on 471/6, some 379 runs ahead of Meghalaya’s first innings total of 92.
Mrinal Das picked up three more wickets to add to his one from yesterday to finish with figures of 4/66 for Meghalaya, while Sachin Kumar claimed 1/132.
Mumbai’s Atharva proved to be devastating with the ball in Meghalaya’s second innings, ploughing through the batting line-up with figures of 7/8, including four wickets in a single over (though not a hat-trick).
None of the Meghalaya batters got into double figures as the team were dismissed for 21 by Mumbai, who finished as runners-up in Group E.
